Summer Music in City Churches

Summer Music in City Churches returns for its seventh year to the Square Mile this June. Founded in 2018, after the demise of the old City of London Festival, Summer Music in City Churches aims to promote the performance of life-enhancing music by world class musicians in some of London’s most historic and inspiring buildings.

This year’s theme is Eternal Light, presenting music inspired by sunrise, moonlight, impressions and reflections in life on earth, and the perpetual light of remembrance. Choral requiem settings form the pillars of this year’s festival, opened by Sir John Rutter conducting Fauré’s much-loved Requiem, and closing with Daniel Hyde conducting Verdi’s immortal setting of the requiem mass.
