Leicester Square, the throbbing quadrilateral at the heart of London’s tourist district is getting a festive new look, starting November 9. In the square itself, you’ll find Christmas market stalls aplenty, each selling seasonal treats, sumptuous food and delicious drinks. In other words, gallons of glühwein and bundles of bratwurst… Sounds perfectly jolly to us!
But, my little elves, that is not all! For, alongside this fairy-lit rhombus of Crimbo commerce, you’ll find a Spiegeltent, playing host to a bunch of performances. Olivier Award-winning variety show La Clique will be there and ready to grab Christmas by the baubles, as will “Dance Like Gatsby” on selected days.
Given we’ve just lost an hour of sunlight in our evenings, a bustling Christmas market under the lights is just what the doctor Santa ordered! Roll on next week.
