Man fighting for life after Oxford Circus stabbing

man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in Oxford Circus in front of horrified shoppers and commuters.

The air ambulance was scrambled to the scene on the corner of Regent’s Street.

A 25-year-old man was arrested after he was detained by members of the public at the scene.

He has been taken to a south London hospital for treatment to a head injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening.

Police were called just before 8pm to reports of a stabbing. Police and paramedics treated the victim at the scene before he was transferred to a central London hospital.

A crime scene is in place and officers remain in the area and officers are trawling for CCTV which could have caught the incident.
