Ms. Great Britain London, Nisha Reedtz, took an exhilarating leap from 13,000 feet in a skydive to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. “Cancer Research is a charity close to my heart, as I have lost many loved ones to cancer,” Nisha shared. In addition to the skydive, she has organized a variety of creative fundraising events, including brunches, dinners, cookie sales, clothing and shoe auctions, and even a movie night. To date, she has raised over £6,600 and aims to increase that total to £25,000 in the coming years.
Nisha is also a Cancer Research UK ambassador, actively advocating for policy changes to improve cancer outcomes at both the national and local levels. Her dedication to the cause extends beyond fundraising, as she campaigns for increased awareness and better access to cancer screenings and treatments.
On October 18th, 2024, Nisha will take the stage at the national finals of Miss Great Britain, where she hopes to secure the title of Ms. Great Britain. She plans to use her platform to further raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK, amplifying her ongoing efforts.
Miss Great Britain has evolved into much more than just a beauty pageant. Since 2015, finalists have raised over £200,000 for Cancer Research UK. Beyond fundraising, contestants have also been pivotal in raising awareness about different types of cancer, promoting early detection through screening, and advocating for change. The funds raised will support life-saving research and help men and women across the UK become more cancer-aware.
