Nisha Reedtz has recently been crowned Ms. Great Britain London, marking a historic milestone as the first British Bangladeshi woman to earn this prestigious title. Miss Great Britain, established in 1945, is Britain’s longest-running and most esteemed beauty pageant, making Nisha’s achievement even more groundbreaking.
A qualified solicitor currently pursuing her PhD at King’s College London, Nisha is proud to represent London’s rich diversity, especially in a climate where racially motivated violence has been on the rise. She aspires to be a positive role model for young women from ethnic minority and working-class backgrounds, demonstrating the power of resilience and representation.
Nisha is launching a non-profit organization where professionals, many of whom come from similarly disadvantaged backgrounds, will hold workshops and establish mentoring relationships with students in the poorest areas of London. This initiative aims to show students that breaking the cycle of poverty is possible, often beginning with having a role model, believing in oneself, and being equipped with the right tools to pursue one’s dreams.
In addition to her work with disadvantaged students, Nisha is also a Cancer Research ambassador. She has raised over £6,600 for the charity through various fundraising activities, including skydiving, participating in a 10k Race for Life, and organizing fundraising parties.
In October, Nisha will compete in the national finals of Miss Great Britain, representing London at Leicester Athena. She hopes to bring the coveted Ms. Great Britain title home to London, further inspiring those who look up to her.
