PocketSquare – the east London rooftop bar with skyline terrace – has launched a new pop culture inspired cocktail list for summer, along with a new menu of Sicilian aperitivo dishes. All to be enjoyed from their lush meadow themed summer terrace.
The fun new summer cocktail menu from Bar Manager Kristian Smith and his expert team takes inspiration from a range of fictional characters in pop culture, from infamous villains and legendary heroes to children’s favourites and iconic comic characters. Ingredients such as lychee, pineapple, passionfruit, guava and butterfly pea give a distinctly tropical feel to the list. Guests can immerse themselves in well-known stories as they try drinks from the list of ten signature cocktails. Drinks on the list include:
Marauder – inspired by the pirates of popular films this cocktail features rum, Caribbean liquor sugar, citric acid, guava and lime soda.
Ambiguity – a conflicted sweet-sour Campari based sip with citric acid, pineapple and butterfly pea, inspired by Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Kushty – a pleasing blend of tropical flavours of pineapple and passionfruit with Hendricks and mint lassi, inspired by the infamous trickster Del Boy.
Practically Perfect – a sweet treat of a cocktail which blends Tiramisu Makers Mark, Pomegranate Port and inverted sugar, taking inspiration from fiction’s most famous and practically perfect nanny.
Robberbaron – a heroic blend of Hepple gin, Benedictine, Spiced wine reduction and Everleaf Forest, inspired by Sherwood Forest’s legendary outlaw, Robin Hood.
PocketSquare’s new Sicilian food menu has been created by Vittorio Meli; head chef at Zoom East, the authentic Sicilian restaurant and sister venue to PocketSquare. The menu brings together some of the restaurant’s most popular antipasti dishes along with an aperitivo sharing board and a selection of flatbreads; all perfect for enjoying alongside cocktails.
